It was around 9AM on the 13th of January, 2020, when the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department was called to a home at 202 Reserve Place, in the North Village area of Celebration. They were there to conduct a welfare check on the Todt family.

It was around 9AM on the 13th of January, 2020, when the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department was called to a home at 202 Reserve Place, in the North Village area of Celebration. They were there to conduct a welfare check on the Todt family.


The Todt family consisted of Anthony and Megan, and their three children, 13-year-old Alek, 11-year-old Tyler, and 4-year-old Zoe. They also had a dog named Breezy.



The Todt family had not been heard from since towards the end of December. Friends and family had received messages from Anthony, who said that they were suffering from the flu around November, and then later, Megan’s aunt received a text message from him saying that they were going on vacation, and not to worry if they couldn’t reach them.


Since then, nobody had heard anything from the family, and concerns for their welfare was mounting.


Officers went to the family’s home, but when they knocked on the door, nobody answered. Nothing appeared to be suspicious outside the home, so the deputies simply left.



The Todt’s neighbours informed police that they hadn’t seen the family since December. They had attended a Christmas Eve holiday concert at the Windsor at Celebration senior living facility, where the boys were performing.


Since then, however, the family hadn’t been seen. Quite often, the family could be seen walking Breezy throughout the neighbourhood, but since Christmas Eve, their presence was noticeably absent from the community. 




Finally on the 13th of January, deputies responded to the family’s home in Celebration. As they pulled up, they saw Anthony outside. He was walking into the home.


Deputies approached the home and knocked on the front door. When nobody answered, they opened the door and walked in. As soon as they opened the front door, an overwhelming stench hit them in the face. The responding officers knew that it was the unmistakable smell of decomposition.
