Two boys, aged 12 and 13, found themselves in serious trouble after causing major damage to a school library in Florida. What started as a reckless adventure ended with criminal charges and a lesson they will not soon forget.


The incident happened at Friendship Elementary School in Deltona. According to police, the boys first entered the school during the day on a Sunday. Later that night, they returned and caused even more destruction. Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a fire alarm at the school.



When police arrived, they discovered a broken glass door and a library that had been heavily vandalized. Books were scattered across the floor, furniture had been thrown around, and the room was left in complete disarray. The damage was estimated to be about $50,000.


At first, investigators had no idea who was responsible. They reviewed surveillance footage and released photos of the suspects to the public. Soon, tips began coming in from people who recognized the boys.


Among those who contacted police were the boys’ own mothers. After seeing the images, they realized their children were involved and reported them to authorities. Their actions helped police quickly identify the suspects.


When questioned, both boys admitted to what they had done. One of them even handed over items that had been taken from the school, including a radio and cameras.


The boys were charged with burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief, and theft. Although they were young, the incident showed that serious actions can have serious consequences.


The story also highlighted the honesty and responsibility shown by the mothers. Instead of protecting their children from the law, they chose to do what they believed was right.


What began as a night of vandalism ended with a difficult lesson about accountability, responsibility, and the importance of making better choices.
