Whoopi Goldberg is addressing her name appearing in the files related to Jeffrey Epstein, saying it does not mean she had any relationship with him

Whoopi Goldberg is addressing her name appearing in the files related to Jeffrey Epstein, saying it does not mean she had any relationship with him.

During a Feb. 17 episode of The View, Goldberg told co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines that her name appeared in the documents because she was trying to arrange travel to a charity event in Monaco.

“In the name of transparency, my name is in the files,” Goldberg said. She explained that the charity organizing the event had contacted private plane owners to see if anyone would provide a jet for her trip. According to Goldberg, the documents reflected that inquiry, but she ultimately did not take any flight.

“So, in other words, anybody could be on this list,” Behar said during the discussion. “Anybody,” Goldberg agreed, stressing that her inclusion in the files does not indicate a personal connection to Epstein.

“I wasn’t his girlfriend, I wasn’t his friend,” she said, adding that people were wrongly assuming she had ties to him. She also noted that she did not board any plane, joking about her well-known fear of flying.

This is not the first time Goldberg has denied rumors linking her to Epstein. In a previous episode of the show, she also rejected claims that she had visited his private island, saying she “doesn’t go anywhere.”

Her comments come after the U.S. Department of Justice released documents connected to the Epstein investigation, prompting renewed public scrutiny over the names included in the files.
