 DNA evidence that does not belong to Nancy Guthrie or any of her “close contacts” has been found at her Tucson, Arizona property, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.


In a statement on Feb. 13, authorities said, “DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her has been collected from the property. Investigators are working to identify who it belongs to. We are not disclosing where that DNA was located.” Officials added that they are “not ruling out any individuals or possibilities.”



The department also addressed reports about gloves discovered during the investigation. Several gloves have been recovered, with the closest located approximately two miles from Nancy’s home. Authorities clarified that reports claiming a glove was found inside the residence or on the property are inaccurate. All collected evidence has been submitted for laboratory analysis.


Nancy, 84, was last seen at her home on the night of Jan. 31. Her family reported her missing around noon on Feb. 1. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously confirmed that blood matching Nancy’s DNA was found on the exterior porch of her home, but her whereabouts remain unknown.


During the investigation, ransom notes connected to Nancy’s disappearance were reportedly sent to several media outlets. The FBI said those communications are under investigation and that it is not aware of any direct contact between the alleged kidnapper or kidnappers and the Guthrie family.


The FBI has also released surveillance footage showing a masked and armed individual appearing to tamper with a Nest camera at Nancy’s front door on the morning of her disappearance. The suspect was described as a male approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build, wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.


Authorities continue to investigate the case and are seeking information that could lead to Nancy’s recovery or an arrest.
