A disturbing photo recovered from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein shows a woman in a white bikini crawling on all fours beneath a table while Epstein and several associates sit around it, focused on their phones and computers.
In the image, the unidentified woman is facing away from the camera, with parts of the photo blurred. A painting depicting a nude infant in a sink is also blurred in the background. Epstein appears in a white T-shirt, glasses, and sweatpants marked “LSJ,” believed to reference Little Saint James Island, his private island.
The image is part of a massive release of government files tied to the long-running investigation into Epstein. The U.S. Justice Department disclosed millions of pages of documents, along with thousands of videos and images gathered over two decades.
The newly released materials include photos, emails, and records detailing Epstein’s connections to prominent figures in politics, business, and international affairs. Among the revelations were communications between Epstein and several high-profile individuals. The disclosures also prompted political fallout abroad, including the resignation of Slovak official Miroslav Lajčák after it emerged he had met Epstein years after Epstein’s earlier conviction. Lajčák was not accused of wrongdoing.
The files further outline the federal investigations that led to sex trafficking charges against Epstein in 2019 and against his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell in 2021. Records show that as early as 2006, underage girls had reported to law enforcement that they were paid to give Epstein sexualized massages. A proposed indictment was drafted in 2007, though federal charges did not move forward at that time.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died in jail the following month while awaiting trial.
