In April 2023, Texas high school teacher Sherri Moody faced a life-changing ordeal when she underwent a quadruple amputation after her arms and legs turned black and “mummified.”
It all began with what seemed like a mild cold during a class trip. Sherri initially brushed it off, but her condition rapidly deteriorated. She developed a high fever and severe breathing difficulties, prompting her to seek urgent medical care.
Doctors diagnosed her with double pneumonia, where the whole problem started.
Texas teacher Sherri Moody was perfectly healthy when she developed what seemed like a mild cold. Within days, it turned into Group A strep, triggering septic shock.
Doctors placed her in a medically induced coma to save her life. When she woke up two weeks later, she had lost all four limbs — her hands and legs amputated to stop the infection from killing her.
Sherri was a healthy and mentally during individual, who worked out 5 days a week. Her husband Brad (her childhood sweetheart) stayed by her side every minute, calling her survival a “miracle” and refusing to let her lose hope.
Today, Sherri is learning to walk again on prosthetics and turning her unimaginable tragedy into a story of resilience and love.
