A heart-breaking story of a girl who cooks for her father and is responsible for household chores

We learn about Hana, a young girl from Fukuoka, Japan, who wakes up every day at 6 a.m. to make soup for her mother. Hana's early morning routine is not for school but to help her mother, who is a breast cancer survivor and has difficulty conceiving. When Hana was just nine months old, her mother's cancer returned, and she began documenting her struggle on a blog. Hana's mother prioritized teaching her daughter essential skills, such as cooking and doing household chores, to ensure her independence.

Hana tragically passed away at the age of 33, but her legacy lives on through her mother's recipes and the movie "Hanna's miso soup." Despite her mother's passing, Hana continued to wake up early to make her mother's miso soup, feeling closer to her with each spoonful.

The focus shifts to Hana's relationship with her mother. Despite their time together being limited, Hana's bond with her mother was strong. Tragically, Hana lost her mother at a young age. However, her mother's influence remained profound. Hana was taught well by her mother and now, as a way to keep her mother's memory alive, Hana follows a special routine and cooks a particular recipe. This ritual ensures that her mother continues to be a part of her life.
